Aerospace Test Rigs
Examples of aerospace test equipment supplied by Georg UK :
- Nozzle Valve Cooling Actuator Rig.
The purpose of the rig is to test the motorized gearbox driving the large ring gear which rotates to allow the cooling of the thrust assembly, the rotation of this gear is required to achieve successful take off and landing manoeuveres.
- Nose Wheel Steering Rig.
The purpose of this rig is to test the hydraulic actuators controlling the stability/articulation of the aircraft nose wheel rig under landing, take off and groung manoeuvre conditions.
- Leading Edge Half Wing Rig.
The purpose of the rig is to simulate the in flight condtions of the leading edge control flap assembly. The construction of an iron wing with all aircraft components of the assembly supported in the aircraft line, by means of the machine assemblies interlinked to produce a complete assembly using a theodolite for very accurate settings.
Flap operation via haydraulic cylinders is used to simulate flap loading conditions with load cells introduced into the system for measuremenr take off. In addition sensor assemblies read aircraft shaft component speeds.
The rig is designed by 3d modeling to achieve accurate simulation of the aircraft assembly.
- Variable Camber Trim Unit Rig.
This unit controls the rear flaps on the trailing edge of the aircraft wing under flight conditions, the unit adjusts the angle of the flaps to achieve a greater fuel efficiency. The purpose of this rig is to simulate in-flight load conditions.
The rig is equipped with electric motors to simulate the load conditions with cell sensing for accurate feed back information.
Other rigs we have designed and maufactured are:
Fire test rigs
Spoiler test rigs
Power drive unit test rigs
We have also manufactured numerous small rig assemblies.
Our fitters are experienced with this type of engineering from mechanical build, setup and hydraulic installation.
We also supply a wide variety of spare parts and fittings, which includes high grade materials for splined shafts, load couplings and torque arms etc.
Hydraulic circuits/manifolds are desgined and supplied to customers specifications and requirements.
